nowadays fashion... it's ridiculous!!

Ridiculous fashions can be seen all over us. In my opinion, those funny fashions can not make us look better, but only make us become unpleasant people. The first example of ridiculous fashions is the clothing. The balloon gown with puffy skirt--really looks like a parachute indeed--is blurring the shape of body. People also wear strange socks, with more than two very bright colors, and different style too between the right sock and the left sock!!

Hi, Twenty-two! What's up?

I couldn't agree more with you... Fashion is usually outrageous! If you see what's displayed on worldwide runways, you'll see people would never wear those pieces of clothe and accesories. Celebrities are paid for wearing specific clothes, and each one of these dresses cost a fortune!

But if we take a look at young people nowadays - for not going too far - I think I agree with you: peopple just wear trendy clothes that don't belong to their own identity. Odd clothes catch people's attention, which is what they really want to achieve, but I date to say that fashion rarely has a purpose in terms of identity or culture. Odd socks are not the exception. Tongue out

Why do you think they like wearing these clothes? How do you think they feel when wearing them?

Cheers!

Yeah, indeed most of those ridiculous clothes are worn by celebrities. I think celebrities wear those clothes only for their job and for the pay. Maybe some of them want to make some sensation to be "different". So, about their feeling, maybe they "enjoy" wearing them (though it seems like uncomfortable to wear).

And there is another example, about jewelry and body piercing--the so called heavy-metal style. Colorful wide bracelets, big and heavy chain necklaces, nose piercing, tongue piercing, belly piercing, even nipple piercing are still in fashions. And, I think the genital piercing such as on clitoris is the most terrible and ridiculous fashion of all. How do you think about this?

Hi, Twentytwo! Hello!

Dumb Eww!!! Those piercings sound dreadful!! I think, however, when these people grow up, they regret these decisions. For example, I met a boy who regreted having a tattoo printed on his arm, as this had been a reason for refusal in different companies and even friends. Additonally, health risks are evident. I don't know why people find it attractive to have a piercing . even genital piercing, as you mentioned!!

Perhaps people ignore that freedom, expression and identity is not attached to unusual ways to spoil your body, but to your personality, what you really are. Clothes are simply clothes, and the best way to catch people's attention is by being who you are! Wink

It's hard to change youngsters' minds, though!

Cheers!
